Grammy nominated award winning American singer and songwriter Musiq Soulchild on show Jules Uncut talks about his new single ‘Simple things’, talks about being a huge fan of Afrobeat and would love to have a concert in Nigeria.
The Soul singer talks about his music company Soul Star Music Company, says it’s a platform he put up to help other artists reach their goals.
On his advice to people who are looking to venture into the music business, Soulchild says “Have a real purpose to want to make music and entertain people” stressing that money should not be the goal, because tough times will come and the passion is what will make you stay.
He also adds that there is the need to have that ultimate self –confidence because when you do get those bad vibes, you know you are doing it for the greater picture. ”Have a purpose, be yourself and have fun.” he summarises his advice as.
Then at about the 11 minute 15 seconds mark, Jules schools Soulchild on how to speak some Nigerian pidgin.
